How pricing works
Flat rate pricing
Rapid Vanlines is a flat rate carrier. Once we know the space your shipment occupies — from the AI photo scan or the truck size you pick — your price is locked. No per-pound reweigh, no hourly meter, no surprise line items on move day. Every item carries a 25% allowance for packing material and dead space.
How we define our charges
- One flight of stairs = up to 10 steps. The first flight is always included.
- Long carry begins when the walking distance from the truck to the entrance exceeds 75 feet.
- Elevator charges apply only when the elevator significantly increases loading or unloading time — not simply because an elevator exists.
- Waiting time: first 30 minutes included, then $75 per hour per crew.
Packing service rates
- Full packing — flat $1.25 per cubic foot, materials included.
- Partial packing — flat $0.75 per cubic foot for fragiles, kitchen and electronics.
- Self packing — free. You box everything before crew arrival.
Every accessorial is listed in your flat rate estimate and contract before you book, so move day holds no surprises.
